Five Days of Deutschland
The first day started off horrible because the airport lost my luggage. It turns out it was in Brussels, Belgium.
We stayed at my dad’s friend’s house in Hochheim (outside of Frankfurt). He has three sons. We played on the computer most of the time. We went swimming in the Rhine river, which is a few blocks from his house. I got stung by a special plant.
The next day we went to a castle called the Berg Eltz. In one room there were canons that were about a foot long each and half a foot tall. The bathrooms had disposal that would go right outside the castle and fall to the ground about a hundred feet down!
Instead of a cutting board they had a three and a half foot tall oak stump as their chopping block.
Monday, we drove to Freiburg, which took about two and a half hours. We had some Kinderchocolate. We went to a cathedral that this year in 2012 was its 1000th year standing. We saw that one of the gargoyles on it had its butt sticking out naked, mooning the house across the street. I had wienerschnitzel for the first time. It also had a delicious sauce on it. They give you lemon to squeeze on it. It was delicious!
In Freiburg I decided to start collecting shot glasses. They’re small, unique and easy to find. I promise my mom I will never drink shots out of them.
Yesterday, we climbed a mountain partway and rode a cable car to go up a tower where we could see all of Freiburg and part of France. It was kind of scary; when the wind blew the tower would shake.
We watched Michael Phelps and his gang get a gold medal in a relay race in the Olympics.
On our way back to Frankfurt we stopped in Heidelberg. We went to a huge castle, Heidelberg Schloss. Now we are headed back to Hochheim.

Hey Miles. It was fun to read your blog today. That fingernail pic sure grossed me out! Glad it finally came off.
So, how long did it take to get your lost luggage to you. I’m not going to share that story with Rick. That’s one of the reasons he’s not a fan of traveling. He’s always afraid that’s going to happen.
Sounds like you’re having all kinds of cool adventures. Can’t wait to hear about it in person! Have a fun, safe rest of your trip. Hope your flight home is a bit more smooth sailing! 🙂

It only took about eight hours to find where it was AND get it back. Tell that to Rick. When I lost all my luggage the airport gave me an overnight bag which had toothpaste a toothbrush a T-Shirt and a shaving kit. It was a mens overnight bag.
