Legoland Deutschland

Posted in Uncategorized on August 11, 2012 by admin

At Legoland first we went to this roller coaster called Feuerdrachen, which means fire dragon in German. At first it would take you through this castle made of Legos and show you different sculptures. One was a torture room where a guy would repeatedly get kicked in the butt by boots on a wheel that would spin around. The other torture machine was where they would stretch you out on a rack. We went on a ride where you would sit on a log that would carry you through a jungle on the water and you would see Lego dinosaurs. One even faced the log and shot water out of its mouth at us and got us wet. Then a machine took the log up a hill and dropped us down a water fall into a pond that sprayed us in the face and got us soaked with water. Next we went to an underwater wild life building where we walked through a dark hall where there were exhibits of fish and other wildlife animals dug into the walls. One of them had sea horses that were about two inches tall and one inch wide. Another exhibit had Lion fish. They are called Lion fish because they have fins on their back that look like a lion’s mane. The fins can sting you and they are poisonous. Then we went into a glass tunnel that took us under an aquarium that had many types of fish. Many people were gathered around something and we had no idea what. Then we looked up and it turned out that a shark was lying on top of the tube. It’s really weird about how there are 2000 fish in the aquarium that the director told us and there are two sharks that don’t realize that there are a thousand prey right in front of their eyes. Me and my mom went down one last roller coaster before we had to go. At first you would go up a huge hill, take a turn then drop you straight down. I forgot to push the thing that would secure you in far enough down so for me it felt like I was in space in zero gravity. Then we looked a mini-sculptures of cities in Europe. They had one of Venice, Switzerland, the Netherlands. They had one whole place just for the Frankfurt airport. Then we saw the Alliance Stadium where Bayren Munchen, my favorite team, plays. It had about 40,000 Lego people inside. And then they had a whole section dedicated to memorable moments in Star Wars history. One was about the first or second movie where Luke Skywalker gets almost frozen on an ice planet and then captured by a yeti and has to be saved. The end.

Robin’s Wood

A few days ago we went to a ropes course in the woods near Rain (pronounced rine). There are platforms where you climb a ladder up to and you wear a harness with attachments to connect to wires above you. We had to go through obstacles to get from platform to platform. One of the obstacles was you had to go through a zig zag of planks that moved as you stepped on them because they were attached by wires above. When you are going through the obstacles there is nothing below you except the wire you would stand on and then eight meters of air and then the ground. It was really fun. Even when it started to rain. The trees were so thick we barely got wet. We would get down from the platforms by a zip line. You would hook your connector onto a wire above you and jump off the platform. You just have to be lucky that gravity would not grab you and swing you around backwards. When I went down the zip line that actually happened to me but I was fine because our instructor told us to swing our feet in a walking motion and that would wear off energy from the swing and you would not fall down or hit anything and it worked.

About a month ago I jammed my ring finger in a door. It had a bruise under the nail for two weeks. One day after a Brewer’s game it started to come off. After many days of pain I finally clipped it off.

Five Days of Deutschland

Posted in Uncategorized on August 1, 2012 by admin

The first day started off horrible because the airport lost my luggage. It turns out it was in Brussels, Belgium.

We stayed at my dad’s friend’s house in Hochheim (outside of Frankfurt). He has three sons. We played on the computer most of the time. We went swimming in the Rhine river, which is a few blocks from his house. I got stung by a special plant.

The next day we went to a castle called the Berg Eltz. In one room there were canons that were about a foot long each and half a foot tall. The bathrooms had disposal that would go right outside the castle and fall to the ground about a hundred feet down!

Instead of a cutting board they had a three and a half foot tall oak stump as their chopping block.

Monday, we drove to Freiburg, which took about two and a half hours. We had some Kinderchocolate. We went to a cathedral that this year in 2012 was its 1000th year standing. We saw that one of the gargoyles on it had its butt sticking out naked, mooning the house across the street. I had wienerschnitzel for the first time. It also had a delicious sauce on it. They give you lemon to squeeze on it. It was delicious!

In Freiburg I decided to start collecting shot glasses. They’re small, unique and easy to find. I promise my mom I will never drink shots out of them.

Yesterday, we climbed a mountain partway and rode a cable car to go up a tower where we could see all of Freiburg and part of France. It was kind of scary; when the wind blew the tower would shake.

We watched Michael Phelps and his gang get a gold medal in a relay race in the Olympics.

On our way back to Frankfurt we stopped in Heidelberg. We went to a huge castle, Heidelberg Schloss. Now we are headed back to Hochheim.

PLANES

Posted in Uncategorized on July 27, 2012 by admin

When I got on my plane I thought it would be a easy ride. The food was terrible,(I ordered the chicken, it looked like mashed potatoes),. There was turbulence and I almost got sick. There were two plane rides the first was the one that had terrible food. The second plane ride had way more turbulence than the first. It was very hard trying to not throw up.The only good things about the first flight is that I had a TV the view of Ireland.

Chicago

We are a third of the way to Chicago where we’ll go on a plane to Belgium. I am starving from instead of eating breakfast I decided to kill bandits in Skyrim (rated best video game of the year). I could not eat lunch because our bus to Chicago left at 11:30. The only thing I have had is some root beer and trail mix. Being starved only makes me want to get on my plane more, because we have packed a huge bag of starburst, skittles and gummy bears to snack on.

Last Minute

It’s 9:11 pm. My parents and brother are last minute packing while I am slacking off and posting on this site. There’s no thrill of going somewhere for me until you get off your plane and get to see how different it is compared to your own home town. My family and I are going to Germany tomorrow. The only thing I know about Germany is that they have delicious milk chocolate and they eat a lot of brats. I am from Wisconsin so I’m used to being around farms and cold weather. I don’t know what to expect of Germany. The plan for tomorrow is that we first get dropped off at a bus station by our neighbors. The bus then takes us to Chicago where we take a plane to Belgium. Then we take a plane to Frankfurt, Germany where we’ll spend our first night with friends.
